“I shared my playlist with him. He was very rude and dismissive”
May's Friday Feature is Sean Baker's Oscar-winning Anora. The team at Stirchley Open Cinema have been keen to get this one on for a while and it was recommended by SOC audience members several times. It even featured at No.3 in SOC volunteer Dave's prestigious top ten Oscar films list! And, by that, we mean he texted the SOC WhatsApp group and said it was good.
Anora, a young sex worker from Brooklyn, gets her chance at a Cinderella story when she meets and impulsively marries the son of an oligarch. Once the news reaches Russia, her fairytale is threatened as the parents set out for New York to get the marriage annulled.
